Redistricting: Special Session Slated for August 3-5
Maryland legislative leaders have announced that the General Assembly will convene in a special session beginning August 3, 2026, to consider legislation related to congressional redistricting. Specifically, lawmakers are expected to consider a proposed amendment to the Maryland Constitution addressing the legal framework for drawing congressional district boundaries. If approved by the General Assembly with the required three-fifths vote, a proposed constitutional amendment would then be submitted to Maryland voters for approval.
