  • 98% Seniors vaccinated
  • 85.9% of adults vaccinated
  • 84.9% of all eligible vaccinated
  • Case rate down 39%
  • Positivity rate down 37%
  • Hospitalizations down 28%
  • CDC granted approval for booster shots from Moderna and J&J
  • Making boosters available for all Marylanders eligible (nearly 1.4 mil Marylanders)
  • Have given nearly 280,000 booster shots statewide so far
  • To determine your eligibility, look at your Vaccination card
    • Pfizer or Moderna:
      • 6 months ago or more, you’re eligible if you fall into one of these categories:
        • 65 or older
        • 18 or older with underlying conditions
        • 18 or older with a high-risk job
    • J&J:
      • 2 months ago or more
      • No special criteria
      • Choose any vaccine as a booster: you can Mix and Match
  • In order to help determine eligibility, the Health Department has launched a new portal on covidvax.maryland.com
  • Post-vaccination hospitalizations: occurred in 0.055% of vaccinated Marylanders
  • Post-vaccination deaths: occurred in 0.007% of vaccinated Marylanders
  • NEW PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY: It is strongly recommended that people with comorbidities receive either an additional dose or booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine immediately.

  • Vaccinations for 5-11 year olds:
    • Completing prep for 5-11 year old vaccinations
    • CDC clearance could come as early as next week
    • State’s initial allocation is 180,000 doses
    • Vaccines will go to pediatricians, pharmacies, and school systems
