January 1 means new laws go into effect in the state of Maryland. For 2025, these laws impact a range of areas, including speeding fines in work zones, Medicaid coverage for prostheses, hearing aids, plastic bags and gas-powered leaf blowers specifically in Annapolis, and security guard licensing.
