Client Highlight: Excel Center Graduation

The Excel Center in Baltimore, a tuition-free adult high school for people 21 and older that’s operated by Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, celebrated its first graduating class last week.

Goodwill, a client of Old Line Government Affairs, received some of the school’s funding as a result of lobbying efforts.

The school is unique, offering flexible class schedules, drop-in childcare, transportation assistance, coaching, embedded job training and an accelerated competency-based high school curriculum. At the graduation ceremony, 19 students from the Excel Center’s inaugural class received their diplomas.

Old Line’s team was also on hand for a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, which opened one year ago.
