In his final actions addressing bills passed in the 2023 Legislative Session, Governor Wes Moore issued a handful of vetoes. Moore noted that it was “not necessary” to sign select bills that were similar to ones he had already signed into law, and he vetoed a specific bill on procurement for the Maryland Transportation Administration regarding bus contracts.
Moore also noted that he would let several bills pass into law without his signature, including one that will prohibit law enforcement from making police stops solely based on the odor of cannabis and regarding fines for smoking marijuana in public.
