Following what’s being described as a “victorious, unique and historic” session, Governor Hogan, along with Senate President Bill Ferguson and House of Delegates Speaker Adrienne Jones, signed 66 bills into law today. Topics included:

  • Telehealth, preserving access to, and coverage for, audio-only services for Marylanders (read our in-depth recap on the telehealth legislation)
  • Compensation for the erroneously convicted via the Walter Lomax Act, named for a man wrongly imprisoned for 39 years
  • Mental health, with the Thomas Bloom Raskin Act, named for the son of U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, and an opt-in mental health services phone call program; and the establishment of the Maryland Behavioral Health and Public Safety Center of Excellence

In addition, bills address changes to operations of the Maryland Environmental Service, funding for affordable broadband Internet infrastructure, and more.
