Old Line Government Affairs helped client MAGI educate legislators regarding a leaf blower bill, successfully representing the association’s needs and its members in Annapolis.
Old Line Government Affairs worked with the Maryland Association of Green Industries (MAGI), an organization that represents lawn care, golf course superintendents, and the pest control industry, to ensure that a ban on gas-powered leaf blowers did not pass this Session.
While HB934 was well-intentioned, our lobbyists and MAGI educated legislators with details about the potential implications. The batteries required for quieter, homeowner-type leaf blowers aren’t ready for commercial applications and would create more waste than they prevent.
MAGI testified and weighed in, and the with the help of Old Line Government Affairs, the bill was successfully defeated.
