Maryland Legislative Maps Finalized

Home | News | Maryland Legislative Maps Finalized

The Maryland Court of Appeals has rejected a challenge to recently re-drawn legislative maps, allowing new redistricting to take effect for the upcoming election. An important election year, every seat will be voted on by constituents in 2022. Maryland’s General Assembly has 47 State Senators and 141 Delegates.

The new legislative map had been approved by the Maryland General Assembly in February. Lawsuits challenged whether or not the new map was constitutional. Following appeals, challenges and re-drawn maps, Maryland’s congressional redistricting was also recently approved, signed by Governor Hogan.

The legislative and congressional maps are now finalized for Maryland’s Primary Election Day on July 19th.
