Protecting a Client’s Interest in Salt Matters

Old Line Government Affairs ensured that a salt application bill did not interfere with their client MAGIC’s interests.

SB246/HB371 would have required commercial salt applicators to certify through the state all employees involved in salt application activity. As client Maryland Green Industry Council (MAGIC) attested in committee hearings and on panels, it would be challenging and expensive to certify each applicator through the state, placing an undue burden on those in the industry.

Old Line and MAGIC offered amendments for a more manageable system of supervisory training in place of this certification process, but ultimately the bill failed for lack of action.
