Governor-elect Wes Moore’s cabinet is shaping up to be the most diverse in state history.
Today, Governor-Elect Wes Moore announced multiple appointments to his cabinet:
- Dr. Laura Herrera Scott as Secretary of Health
- Portia Wu as the Secretary of Labor
- Rafael López as the Secretary of Human Services
- Atif Chaudhry as the Secretary of General Services
- Anthony Woods as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
- Vincent Schiraldi as the Secretary of Juvenile Services
Earlier this week, Moore also announced the nomination of state Sen. Susan Lee (D-Montgomery) to be Maryland’s next secretary of State – which, if approved, would leave a vacancy in the Senate and the possibility of more legislature changes as a result.

- David Turner, Communications Director
