Beginning today and lasting through April, the Maryland General Assembly will address numerous issues affecting residents and businesses in the 2023 Legislative Session, and the 445th General Assembly.

As Old Line’s Government Affairs Director Sherry Nickerson pointed out in the session preview, topics including cannabis, education, electric vehicles, workforce and more will be up for discussion.

Coming out of the mid-term elections, there are many new faces in the legislature too, representing a wide variety of backgrounds and interests, ranging in age from 25 to 72.

Yet still, there are more changes to come, with additional posts to be announced by the incoming administration, and vacant seats already made in the General Assembly following previous announcements.
