A special session of the Maryland General Assembly is currently underway, tackling select topics ahead of the 2022 session, which convenes on January 12th. In this special session:
- Redistricting and drawing an updated congressional map that will be used for the 2022 election and the decade to come
- Deciding whether or not to override two dozen vetoes by Governor Hogan during the prior legislative session
- Electing a new state treasurer
With regard to redistricting, the legislative advisory panel’s congressional redistricting proposal was passed in the Senate and is headed to Governor Hogan’s desk.
