Delegate Kathy Szeliga
District 7
Baltimore County and Harford County

With a fascinating political career in her pocket, Delegate Kathy Szeliga is a woman to watch.

A former educator, small business owner, wife, mom, and grandmother, Delegate Szeliga says she ran for office because there “weren’t enough lawmakers that had practical backgrounds.” Delegate Szeliga wanted to see people like herself in Annapolis, and she credits her background as the reason why she’s held office for the past ten years.

A big accomplishment that Delegate Szeliga is proud of is putting video cameras on the House floor, which has made a huge difference in how the General Assembly operates, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. “It is so important for the public,” Delegate Szeliga says. “It brings accountability.”

Something you might not know about Delegate Szeliga is that she used to live in Colorado, and house-sat for someone pretty exciting. To find out who it is, please tune in to this edition of Online with Old Line with our Director of Government Affairs, Sherry D. Nickerson.
