Old Line Government Affairs was able to successfully defend procurement interests for their client PinPoint.
When a legislator files a bill that potentially harms your company’s ability to engage in business with the state, you call on your trusted lobbyist to help change the legislation. For Old Line client PinPoint, that call made a big difference.
While the COVID-19 vaccine gave people the hope that stability and a sense of normalcy was on the horizon, it also created new challenges: the paper vaccine cards proved to be an inconvenience. To make things easier, PinPoint created a digital vaccination verification offering to access and keep record of vaccine history.
During the 2022 Session, a Maryland Senator filed a bill that would have required the Maryland Department of Health to use a specific platform for digital vaccination records. It just so happened that the platform identified was incompatible with PinPoint’s digital vaccination verification system, creating a problem for PinPoint’s business efforts.
PinPoint called Old Line to fix things. PinPoint currently works with multiple counties across the state in providing digital vaccination verification via their product VaccineCheck, and the bill would have eliminated those opportunities.
Old Line worked with legislators and state officials to defend their client’s interests and open up procurement opportunities within the State of Maryland. The proposed bill did not pass out of committee.
