Springtime in Maryland means that Cherry Blossom season is approaching. In Japan, the blooms have already begun to show. This time of year also presents an opportunity to celebrate Maryland’s relationship with Japan. On March 4, 2026, the Embassy of Japan in D.C. hosted Maryland Governor Wes Moore and other dignitaries for Japan-Maryland Night. The evening highlighted culture, food, businesses – and mascots too, with Poe from the Ravens and the Oriole in attendance.
Old Line Government Affairs Lobbyist Aaron Greenfield has worked closely with clients at the Embassy of Japan for several years, supporting multiple diplomatic and networking events and celebrating the strong economic and cultural ties between Maryland and Japan. This annual event aims to strengthen the diplomatic bonds and celebrate the mutual prosperity between Maryland and Japan.
