Maryland Delegate and House Minority Leader Jason Buckel was born and raised in Allegany County, the district he now represents. Growing up with a family of lawyers, he stepped into a similar role, practicing law in Cumberland today.
An avid sports fan, Delegate Buckel has been very involved in legislation around sports gaming in Maryland, especially given the location of Rocky Gap Casino Resort in his district, and is eager to see how it evolves.
Beyond the casino, Delegate Buckel notes that there’s lots more to do and see in his district than you may think, including spas and a thriving brew-pub. He enjoys raising his own family in Western Maryland, with West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia all very close by.
There’s one thing that many of his colleagues in Annapolis give him a hard time about – and here’s a hint: you probably won’t see him wearing purple.
